Yes you read correctly before...Il be working at London Fashion Week!,the starting block of something i've always dreamed of! Il be joining the team at On|Off for 5 days working at the wonderful Victoria House, Bloomsbury Avenue. Looking forward to seeing a few faces from the team at Carnaby Catwalk as well as fantastic collections from the likes of Simon Ekrelius,Spijkers en Spijkers and Louise Amstrup. Just a sneaky little peak!

Yesterdays shoot was AMAZING!! I Had such a brilliant day with all the team. Photographer Catherine Bradley of Clearvision Imagery, Hair Stylist Natasha Goodhand-Tait and Makeup Artist Emma all did a great job. And of course it helps with 2 beautiful girls to model some stunning vintage gowns. The location gave us some great backdrops that really suited the mood of each look. We styled 5 different looks throughout the day,i only got pictures of the Gothic look. I cant wait to see the final pictures and add them to my slowly growing portfolio, but in the mean time here is a sneaky peak at some behind the scenes pictures. Hope you like :)

Tomorrows shoot.

So yesterday Carnaby Catwalk, Tomorrow styling a shoot for the beautiful Hollie Jay Bowes and Melissa Walton from Hollyoaks. Photographed by photographer Catherine Bradley.

The location for the shoot is the beautiful Dunchurch Park Hotel. I have rails and rails of stunning floor length vintage dresses for the models to look amazing in! Il give you a sneak peak of on set pictures tomorrow, keep check of my twitter for shoot updates. It should be an exciting day creating some stunning pictures. For ones i wont be the assistant stylist.... i'l be THE stylist. check me out :) 

At Carnaby Catwalk

What a day! getting up at 5am was SO worth it!

I arrived in London for about half 7... i love the streets of the city at that time. So calm and peaceful, the tall buildings towering above me and the clouds slowly clearing from the sky. I was preying for good weather as the catwalk show was outside. 

As i approached Carnaby street i could see the lights and sound system being set up, along with posters lining the shop windows and the stage being set for the 3 catwalk shows. I new were to head to as i could see a crowed of beautiful, beautiful, legs up to their arm pits and smoldering eyed male and female models. 

 (there i was tired eyed and in flip flops!)

When Alexes Knox (Fashion stylist to the show and fashion editor) rocked up she was just how i imaged. Dressed in a lime green and purple body-con jersey dress with sharp sleeves, ripped black tights and MASSIVE black platform Lady Gaga esc shoes. Her bangs looked amazing as i expected along with her signature top knot. She is the nicest and most talented lady i have met in the industry. what a privalidge. shes just COOL

Each model had about 6 looks to strut down the catwak, each from a different designer or brand from Carnaby Street. Each dresser ran through the models looks one by one (this is where the scrummy male models come in!) making sure no tags were visible, all clothes fitted correctly, looks worked well together, any accessories needed and if anything needed steaming before the show. There were some great pieces of clothing amongst the collections, especially in the mens wear.  

'The Makeup Store" a new makeup shop on Carnaby street created the makeup looks for the show and RUSH London hair created the quaffed creations. I wasn't to keen on the makeup... but the hair looked fab. 

As well as the Catwalk show looking great, the music was awesome. The models strutted there stuff to old school T-Rex, The Cure, Plan B, Kasabian, Lilly Allen... real good tunes to draw the crowds in. 

Now being backstage has its one downfall.. you don't get to see the show!! There was'nt even a little window to peak my head out of... and being so rushed off my feet i hardly had a moment to take any pictures of the show or the goings on backstage. But,  amongst lots of quick changes and boobies n bits flying everywhere, i did snap a sneaky couple...

Each of the 3 shows ran really smoothly, lasting about 45 minutes each. The crowds loved it! (especially all the tourists with their cameras out) the day went so so quick but i was really happy to be a part of it. And the weather held up! thank you mr sunshine! It was great to meet and work with all the team and i cant wait to do it all again next week at London Fashion Week! THATS RIGHT! you read it right.. LONDON FASHION WEEK!.... ME!

Carnaby Catwalk celebrating 50 years!

Carnaby’s 50th anniversary celebrations continue with Catwalk Carnaby – a vibrant showcase of the fashion talent in the area.  As a prelude to London Fashion Week, this free catwalk show on Carnaby Street will be staged 3 times on Saturday 11th September (12pm, 2pm, 4pm) and feature 120 key Autumn Winter tend looks from collections available in the shops there and then.

Styled by Alexis Knox (Notion Magazine and regular LFW stylist) and produced by Doll Productions, the catwalk show will reflect the variety, quality and unique nature of fashion talent in the Carnaby area. I LOVE ALEXIS KNOX!

THIS IS ENGLAND 86'

YES ITS BACK!

Tuesday saw the first instalment of channel 4s tv Drama THIS IS ENGLAND '86. I don’t know anyone who wasn’t talking about it or excited to watch it! 

 Being a fan of 'THIS IS ENGLAND' the movie directed by Shane Meadows, I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for the skin head gang 3 years on.  Even the advert was enough to get me hooked. That amazing song ‘Geno’ by Dexys midnight runners says it all…

In a time of recession, lack of jobs, Maggie Thatcher and of course the BEST STYLE  and FASHION around, there was a sense of the world at a turning point.

Although I don’t personally dress in that style, I must say the Mod Culture look of their time is definitely my favourite. Working as the stylist for this drama series would be my ultimate dream! I must find out who the fashion director is… If you missed last weeks episode,  you’re a fool! And must catch up ready for the second episode.

Anyone with the fashion bug will be greatly inspired, I know I am!

My very first post!

Ok, after toying with the idea of writing a blog all summer, i have finally decided to get to it and give it a go! (thanks to my friend Laura!) 

So to get you up to speed with things, and to kick off my new blog in style, heres what you've missed! : 

In June i packed my rucksack and ventured off to South East Asia for 6 weeks, soaking up the culture, fashion, lifestyle and amazing views of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. I took over 2,000 photos, i'l keep it short and show you a couple of my favorites.

Work Experience at ZOO magazine (im a bit of a sucker for lads mags!) Worked with legendary stylist and pr director Rich Evans on shoots for the magazine. i love his work so was a privilege and an exciting opportunity

And here for a bit: 

Work Experience at FHM magazine. Assisting the team at FHM and working with the fashion and picture desks on shoots for this months issue of the magazine! yes... i saw some naked bits, sipped on free cocktails and drowned in the fashion cupboard, not a bad couple of weeks!
